Journey To DamascusAn Ecumenical Movement |
|
Thanks to everyone for their support for the recent weekends in Corpus and in Houston. 2008 closes the 10th year of the Journey To Damascus. We are all grateful for what the Holy Spirit is doing in so many lives through this community. The Journey to Damascus is an ecumenical movement under the direction of the Catholic Diocese of Corpus Christi whose aim is to promote a renewal or rekindling of life's core religious values. This is accomplished by conducting weekend retreats in Corpus Christi and in Houston which will lead to an individual's becoming more involved in their Church Community including joining groups of Christians who gather regularly to talk about their faith. The original Journey to Damascus community was formed by a number of Catholics who had attended a "Walk To Emmaus" and who wanted to have more Catholics participate but understood the hesitancy of many to attend. This movement is being greatly supported and encouraged by members of the Methodist Emmaus, Episcopal Cursillo and Catholic Cursillo communities with the common goal being that we will all work together to make lives better. |
